Looking back on the year 2024
Happy New Year 2025
Thank you for your continued support for Southeast Asian women!
As we begin a new year, the entire Opportunity for Women team would like to extend our warmest wishes to you for 2025. We hope that this year will be synonymous with happiness, health and success in your projects for you and your loved ones.
Before turning the page on 2024, let's look back on its highlights together. Thanks to your generosity and support, we were able to continue concrete actions to improve the lives of women in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos. Thanks to your donations, we were able to continue to offer them training in plant dyeing and business development.
Our achievements in 2024
🇲🇲 YounSone empowers itself
The YounSone project in Burma is becoming independent! It was launched and supported by Julia and Yvonne who were able to transfer operational management to the next generation at the end of the year. Thanks to the skills acquired in recent years, Monica Maran and MoeMoe took responsibility for the workshop within Fondacio Myanmar under Julia's coaching.
After two years of internship and training at YounSone, Anna is going to continue her studies at the Fondacio Asie Training Institute . This is a great success, both for her and for us!
Gracy Ann then joined the YounSone team as an apprentice. She will benefit from training and resources to develop and find her professional path.
🌿 The Ecoprinting project launches
For the past 4 years, NoeNoe has enjoyed a steady income from her sewing business for Opportunity for Women. Today, she is fluent in English and has gained confidence.
Thanks to your support, we were able to help him realize his dream: to learn the technique of Ecoprinting , an art that reinvents vegetable dyes to create unique and beautiful designs.
NoeNoe begins work on a new clothing collection for summer 2025.
🌱 Development in Laos and Vietnam
In February 2024, Yvonne - President of Opportunity for Women - went to meet the association's beneficiaries in Laos and Vietnam.
In Laos, the cushion prototypes immediately found their place in the new Pha Nya Residence hotel in Luang Prabang .
In the North of Vietnam, near Dien Bien Phu, thanks to the partnership with the local branch of Entrepreneurs du Monde, Yvonne was able to help develop local sales of the collection Dokmaï . The weavers have teamed up with a seamstress and now offer finished products in two stores in the city.
The beauty and rarity of their know-how, which goes from cotton cultivation, through spinning, natural dyeing and then weaving, is fully appreciated in the new plaids. You can admire them on our site .
🌟 Development in France
The numerous private sales and the Yakan le Comptoir boutique have grown and we have been able to fulfill the first B2B orders - You will find our cushions in the 17.45 restaurant in Paris 11th and in the Sangha hotel in Toulouse .
Many thanks for your support!
Without you, none of this would have been possible. Your commitment and solidarity make a real and lasting difference in the lives of the women we support.
We invite you to continue to accompany us throughout this new year. Every gesture counts, and together, we can transform lives.
